Here's a quick post from the archives today - Boudicca, Queen of the Iceni and one of her chieftains in a chariot. This is my take on the Warlord figures and the other chariot, horses and crew are by Renegade Miniatures. We played a Hail Caesar game of the Battle of Watling Street, a few years ago, and the Romans just managed, to hold on for once!

This pair of chariots is terrific! Renegade made some nice models.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan, yes the Renegade ranges were very fine, big and chunky, pity they're not doing business anymore.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to look at such beautiful chariots...and with Boudicca, cherry on the cake!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, you can't beat some nice chariots.
DeleteCracking mate, I do like those a lot.
ReplyDeleteYet to paint mine, still in the pile was thinking about portraying a crash or the like with two chariots on the one impetus base!
Cheers
Matt
Thanks Matt, the wide Impetus base gives you plenty of scope for an interesting diaroma with chariots.
DeleteSuper looking pair of chariots, I almost bought the Boudicca one even though I didn't have an army for it and you've done a great job of it! The renegade chariot is appreciably larger isn't it?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain, I use my Celts for Britons, Gauls and Galatians. The Renegade figures are definitely larger than most, still excellent figures.
DeleteWhat a great looking chariots!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal.
DeleteI like the Queen Boudicca chariot the most, but I can not help but imagine the conversation that is going on with the brute behind her.... bloody stop shouting in my ear I can see that boulder over there, I won't hit it, bloody back seat driver:)
ReplyDeleteCheers
Kevin
Thanks Kevin, he does look like like a brute, and a back seat driver, you right!
DeleteThanks Rodger.
