Macedonian and Successor Elephants

Here are four 15mm Macedonian and Successor Elephants that I've just finished painting. In the photos above of early ellies with pikemen astride, the middle one is Xyston which I just painted, while the other two, by Gladiator Miniatures and Essex Miniatures, were done some time ago. In the photos below the later armoured Seleucid elephant in the middle is by Xyston while the other two are Forged in Battle. To finish there's a shot of my Seleucid Successor infantry and cavalry.

Blemmye Cavalry and More Infantry

Here are some Blemmye cavalry and more archers and javelin men for my 15mm Blemmye and Nobotae army. Figures are by Forged in Battle and Donnington Miniatures. The Nobotae king with the crown next to the standard and the cavalry figures on the left are Donnington, the rest are Forged in Battle. It's been pretty quiet on the gaming and painting front lately, I had a stack on my mtb and hurt my ribs so haven't been up to much for a while. I now have enough painted Blemmye for a Lion Rampant game and have some Forged in Battle Middle Imperial Romans as well as Legio Heroica Late Romans to paint and use as opponents.

Sassanid Heavy Infantry

Here are some more Sassanid infantry that I've just finished painting for my 15mm Sassanid army. These are all Forged in Battle figures from their Sassanid heavy infantry pack with an LBM banner. These are really lovely, detailed little figures, more true 15mm than 18mm, that are just great to paint. I have quite a few more packs of these to paint, mainly Clibinarii and a pack of the Daylami hillmen.

Blemmye Elephants, Spearmen and Archers

Here are the first dozen bases of my 15mm Blemmye army for MeG. The elephants, spearmen and archers are all by Forged in Battle. There is not a lot of information available on the Blemmye, my two references at the moment are the Osprey book by David Nicolle, Rome's Enemies (5) The Desert Frontier and Phil Barker's WRG book The Armies and Enemies of Imperial Rome.

If you're interested in 15mm, Forged in Battle are just about to release, on Friday 28 April 2020, their Dark Ages ranges which includes numerous armies, as well as buildings, ships, transfers and additional packs for existing ranges. There are some great looking ranges there so check out their website.
