Here's a guest post by Garry with some Macedonian Hypaspists he's just painted. Figures are a mix of Essex Miniatures and A&A Miniatures with LBM shield transfers and banner.

Here are some Sassanid command figures, Savaran and light cavalry that I've just finished painting. They're all A&A figures with LBM banners and shield transfers. I've added six Savaran (three with banners) on unarmored horses to the twelve I already have to make up three units of six. We've got a Command and Colors Medieval (CCM) game lined up this week. The scenario is the Battle of Hormuz 226 AD with the Sassanids under Ardashir I taking on the Parthians under Artabanus IV. It should be fun, lots of horse archers, shooting and cataphracts!
Here are some Sassanid Savaran with unarmoured horses that I've just finished painting. These are all A&A Miniatures with LBM shield transfers. We've had a Late Roman vs Sassanids game lined up for quite a while, but it has been postponed about three or four times for various reasons, hopefully we will finally get to play it this week.
Here are some Sassanid cataphracts that I've just finished painting. These are all A&A Miniatures with LBM shield transfers. I have started on some more Sassanid Aswaran/Asbaran/Savaran, the heavily armoured aristocratic cavalry, but these all have unarmoured horse.
Between Christmas and New Year we did a three day bushwalk in the Snowy Mountains from Geehi to Thredbo up Hannels Spur. Below are a few photos of our trip with our friends Shaun and Viv. Hannels Spur through to Mt Kosciuszko is the largest vertical climb in Australia at 1880m. On our second day we were overtaken by a guy who had run up from Geehi that morning!

Here are two Sassanid command stands that I've just finished painting. The figures are all A&A Miniatures with LBM banner and shield transfers. We've got a Sassanids versus Late Romans game lined up early next month, so these command stands will feature in that game.

I thought I do a review of the Numidian command stands and cavalry I have painted to date. Some of these figures had lost spears and shields while others required some touching up. I still have some Warlord Numidian cavalry to finish painting but have mainly infantry to do for my army now.
