Numidian Infantry

Here are some Numidian infantry that I've just finished painting. The larger unit are trained Numidian infantry by Victrix Miniatures with Victrix shield transfers. The smaller unit are Numidian javelin men by Renegade Miniatures with cattle and elephant hide shields that are hand painted. Most of my remaining unpainted Numidian infantry are Renegade and Crusader Miniatures. I have plenty of cavalry but still have quite a bit of infantry and two Crusader Numidian elephants to finish painting for the army. I should have enough infantry figures to try out a Jugurthine War, Numidians versus Late Republican Romans game.

Anglo-Danish Huscarls

Here are some Anglo-Danish huscarls that I've just finished painting. They are Renegade Miniatures with a mix of LBM transfers and hand painted kite shields. I've started on some Victrix Anglo-Danes as well, these will be the Select Fyrd.

Numidian Slingers, Archers and Cavalry

Here are some Numidian slingers, archers and cavalry that I've just finished painting. The slingers and archers are Renegade Miniatures and the cavalry are Warlord Games. I only have infantry left to do for my Numidians, so will finish some units of these and hopefully get a game in soon.

Galatian Commanders and Javelinmen

Here are some Galatian commanders and javelinmen. I made four 60mm square sabot bases for my Galatian commanders, the figures are by Victrix, Foundry and Companion with LBM shield transfers. I've just finished painting the javelinmen, these are Wargames Factory, Warlord, Renegade, Vendel and 1st Corps figures with mainly LBM and VVV transfers, and some hand painted shields. The back drop photo is of Hatussa (modern Bogazkoy), the ancient Hittite capital in Central Anatolia, the Galatians actually settled here, it was the seat of the Trokmer clan.

A couple of weeks ago we did this really nice day walk in Tidbinbilla, the loop of Mt Tidbinbilla, Tidbinbilla Peak and John's Peak. Below are quite a few photos of our walk!

The track up is steep in places

Celt Command

Here's a Celt command stand that I've just finished painting. The chieftain and carynx player are by Renegade Miniatures, the standard bearer by Gripping Beast and the druid with the head collection by Victrix Miniatures. I really like the Renegade Miniatures figures, cricket bat swords not withstanding. They are big, chunky and easy to paint and make a nice change from all the Warlord plastic Celts with manic poses, that are hard to rank up. I have a couple more Renegade warbands to paint as well as a cavalry unit and some of their chariots.

Boudicca

Here's a quick post from the archives today - Boudicca, Queen of the Iceni and one of her chieftains in a chariot. This is my take on the Warlord figures and the other chariot, horses and crew are by Renegade Miniatures. We played a Hail Caesar game of the Battle of Watling Street, a few years ago, and the Romans just managed, to hold on for once!

Norman Milites

Here are some Norman Milites from the archives. These are mainly Conquest Games Norman plastic cavalry with two Crusader Miniatures figure...
