Samnites

Victrix Armoured Samnites

Victrix Italian Allies

Crusader Linen Legion

Here is a unit of Samnite infantry that I've finally finished painting. They've been stuck in the painting queue for a very long time, so I'm glad to see the back of them! The figures are from the plastic Victrix set, Armoured Samnites with Victrix shield transfers. In this post I've added photos of other Samnite units I've painted to date, they're all labelled to avoid confusion. The Crusader figures are painted as the famous Linen Legion mentioned by Livy in his History of Rome (9.40 & 10.38).

  1. Are you going to run these in a pure Samnite / Itallian list? Don't often see those armies, nicely done.

    1. Thanks fmb, yes I'll use them as Samnites for ADLG and Impetus. They're a very colourful army that you don't see that often.
