Here's a Sassanid Command stand of Shapur I and Valerian that I've just finished painting. These are great figures by Aventine Miniatures, who have some fantastic ranges, including easily the best ancient elephants in 28mm.

A very, very cool painting on an equally cool vignette, Mike! I've had my eye on this set for many years - but back out each time I wanted to order it as I don't have any other figures from this period. Inspirational though - and my someday get some.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean, yes it’s a great set, I always admired Phil Hendry’s version on his blog.
DeleteMike! This is a beautiful command vignette. Aventine figures are at the head of the class. I recently picked up a few more Romans to field two more units.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan, absolutely they’re brilliant figures, looking forward to their early Byzantine cavalry.
DeleteCracking job on this vignette, congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, they’re great figures.
DeleteLovely work sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal.
DeleteNice Cyrus, you can't place 28's on a stand like that, for sure!
ReplyDeleteCheers

Thanks Kevin, the figures are 28mm Aventine Sassanids.
Deletehahaha, it sucks getting old, sorry man. So used to you posting 15's of late I was like wow, look how many 15's you can get on a stand. This is even more impressive then.
